Metode ini menghilangkan NOx melalui reaksi kimia dengan menginjeksikan sejumlah <strong>NH\u2083 atau agen denitrifikasi lainnya<\/strong> dalam ducting gas buang pada boiler pembangkit listrik, insinerator limbah, kiln, atau tungku pembakaran lainnya.<\/p><p>NH\u2083 dipersiapkan dari<strong> larutan urea 50% yang dicampur dengan sejumlah kecil aditif anti-korosi<\/strong>. Keunggulan agen denitrifikasi ini adalah proses persiapannya yang mudah serta tidak memerlukan standar keselamatan khusus dalam penanganannya.<\/p><p>Pada teknologi <strong>Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR)<\/strong> biaya investasi untuk pengurangan NOx sangat dipengaruhi oleh <strong>harga dan volume katalis<\/strong>, sedangkan biaya operasional bergantung pada <strong>umur pakai katalis<\/strong>. Oleh karena itu <strong>proses reduksi selektif tanpa katalis menjadi lebih menarik, terutama untuk kebutuhan efisiensi denitrifikasi yang relatif rendah<\/strong> may be more attractive, especially when the required denitrification efficiency is relatively low (<strong>&lt;50%<\/strong>).
